Nina hesitates for one second, but then she says, "Yes, there's one I'd like you to see, but not here in Kerch -- the Little Palace in Os Alta, Ravka." Ketterdam melts away and they're standing outside the Little Palace, gravel path sloping away towards the tunnel of trees that leads towards the Grand Palace. The exterior is all dark wood and golden domes with carvings of bird, flowers, and vines inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

"This is the royal court I was part of," Nina says, "though I did spend half my time in the children's school across the lake there. There's a larger palace beyond those trees where the royal family would hold balls and other events. This is where I grew up, where I learned about my Grisha abilities and how to control them. It's beautiful... but also holds a lot of memories of war and suffering."
