[open post - dream big]
Luo Binghe does not need to sleep every night, and at home he is too busy to do so. But there is less to do here, and he grows bored in the nighttime when there is no chance of seeing any of the few people he likes. And Nina must not have any nightmares on his watch.
He curls up on his bed now, enduring the ache he always feels to be in it alone. Sleeping alone is one of the things he most despises. The only saving grace is that his powers let him make himself sleep instantly. In his youth, he often ended up fighting his thoughts for hours in place of sleep, even when physically exhausted. He wishes Shen Yuan were here, or if not, perhaps Sagramore—not to do anything that would disrespect Shen Yuan, but just to warm Luo Binghe's bed with his presence. But he would prefer almost anyone in the mansion over no one.
He ignores this customary melancholy and forces himself to sleep. He will first check on Nina, to guide her mind towards its best dreams without intruding, as he promised. After that, all dream paths are open to him.
[If you'd like a Luo Binghe dream visitation, please comment with how and where your character is sleeping, and perhaps what might be on their mind. If Luo Binghe does not know the character well, the dream will be more generic. However, he can read thoughts and memories, so feel free to DM the typist if there's anything you'd like Binghe to pick up on. Sweet dreams!]

Luo Binghe takes control of the dreamscape. The burning house melds into a waterfall of flame that pours from a black ridge into a burning river, a natural feature Luo Binghe encountered in the Endless Abyss. Overhead, the red sky shifts and buckles with the Abyss' dimensional instability, the scent of sulfur hanging in stifling air as hot as blood. "What are you, then? Know that whatever it is, I have faced and conquered worse."
1Actually Asmodean.

The waterfall of flame and the burning river widen, now moving much slower, sluggish -- but the black ridge grows higher and higher and larger until they're standing on the side of a mountain, molten lava slowly flowing around them. In the distance, a giant flaming eye perches on top of a tower and gazes dispassionately at them. "Hmm," Aornis says, also with slight disinterest. "I think your boyfriend was more interesting than you."

¹Yeah, he did kind of already use this line on Claudius. It's that repetitive PIDW writing.

"Explain yourself." If anyone in Luo Binghe's realm heard this tone of voice, they would throw themselves at his feet in terror and contrition. "If you've touched his mind, you will suffer for it."

She shrugs slightly, not seeming particularly worried about the sword in his hand. Even in the dream world, she has a small pistol tucked behind her hip in her waistband, though she doesn't think she'll need to use it.

He dips into her mind to look for vulnerabilities. Finding what troubles her is the work of a moment—her mind is eating itself alive obsessing over Thursday Next, Thursday Next. Luo Binghe presses Xin Mo's tip into Aornis' throat—even if it's not real, her mind will feel pain—and then an average-looking woman in her late thirties appears at Aornis' side.
"Aornis," Thursday Next says with a sigh. "Causing trouble?"

"How typical of you." She sighs. "You'll forget this the minute you leave my dream. You're going to kill me? I'd like you to try. Maybe then you'll be more popular here."
no subject
"When I say I will kill you," he says, "it is not a threat. It is a statement of fact. I've faced more villains and monsters than you could count, and all have fallen to me in time. I always win."
"Aornis, give it up already," says the dream Thursday Next.
1Well yeah, that would take some serious typist logistical wrangling.

"Yes, but the problem is that you have a weakness now," she says. The molten lava, the chasm, and everything else vanishes. They're back in the lobby of the mansion where Shen Yuan is standing in front of them, looking mildly irritated. "Why the hell wouldn't I remember it?" He asks. Aornis' voice echoes in from off-screen. "Because I'm about to wipe your memory. Bye, Shen Yuan! Looking forward to meeting you again soon." A few seconds later (after she turns the corner off-screen) Shen Yuan blinks and then goes to consider the welcome table.
She crosses her arms and raises an eyebrow at Luo Binghe as if to say See?

If he reacts too strongly, it will confirm that she only has to target Shen Yuan to get to him. It would endanger Shen Yuan. The dream-memory version peruses the welcome table materials, looking just as sweet and irresistible as in real life. Luo Binghe wants to strike Aornis down for touching his mind, but it is more important to keep her from doing worse once they both awaken.
Luo Binghe makes his face impassive and his voice cold.
"You are mistaken. I threatened you for troubling him not because he is significant, but because he is mine. In my own realm I have dozens of wives; I would protect each of them as fiercely." He dismisses Shen Yuan with a pang, and places himself on his throne in his full imperial garb, with six of his closest wives arranged around him. "Shen Yuan is not a new weakness. He is merely the latest person I have chosen. But I am a possessive man and I do not like to lose, so again: you will not escape my retribution." He manifests more Ghost-Head Spiders. They scuttle around Aornis, closing in on her.

"Yeah, but what are you going to do about it?" She asks, tilting her head at him. "You can stay in this dream. Keep me distracted. The longer you're in my dream, though, the more I can worm my way into your mind. You could also kill me and end this now... but then you'll forget about it the moment you leave. It's your move. Choose wisely."
